HI,
I recently saw a headline that said "AIDS pandemic set to explode for India." By using the term "explode", mentioning a specific geographic region (India), and that the disease is not likely to affect the majority of people, wouldn't it be better to write "AIDS epidemic..."? Is the difference between the two subjective or is there some guideline to follow?
Any help will be apprecited.
